About the Horses
Our horses are a variety of Irish Draught and Sport Horse - our ponies are a mixture of cross breeds and Connemara. Most of them have been with us for a long time and are well respected as being a very important part of the business here in Annaharvey. They all have their own personalities from elegant Serengetti to grumpy Dougal to gentleman Warpaint!
The horses and ponies enjoy being out in the paddocks in summer but in winter are housed in loose sheds bedded with straw and fed sillage and hay. The farrier pays us a weekly visit but thankfully the vet is not a regular caller except in the breeding season when we are scanning mares and foaling.
